Ramchandra Narhar Chitalkar, popularly known as C. Ramchandra, was born on January 12, 1918, in Puntamba, Maharashtra. He was a renowned Indian music director and playback singer, celebrated for his innovative compositions in Hindi cinema. One of his most famous songs is “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon,” a patriotic piece that moved Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to tears. C. Ramchandra’s work significantly influenced the evolution of film music in India. He passed away on January 5, 1982, in Mumbai.
