Hero is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language romantic action film directed by Nikkhil Advani and co-written by Umesh Bist. It is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s directed 1983 film of the same name, which starred Jackie Shroff. The 2015 version was produced by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai and featured debutantes Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the lead roles. The movie was released on September 11, 2015, introducing Pancholi as a leading actor and Shetty, the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, in her first film role.
