Hindi Manto (2018)

Manto is a 2018 Indian biographical drama movie about the famous Urdu author Saadat Hasan Manto, written and directed by Nandita Das. The movie features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rasika Dugal and Rajshri Deshpande in lead roles. The music of the movie is composed by Sneha Khanwalkar and Raftaar while the lyrics have been penned by Dibakar Banerjee, Simaab Akbarabadi, Meeraji, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Raftaar and Saadat Hasan Manto. Manto movie songs are sung by Rekha Bhardwaj, Shubha Joshi, Shankar Mahadevan, Rashid Khan, Vidhya Shah, Raftaar, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie was released on 21 September 2018. The movie is a biographical account of writer Saadat Hasan Manto’s life and is set in 1940s India. Manto earned seven nominations at 64th Filmfare Awards including Best Film Critics, Best Actor Critics for Siddiqui.
