Mera Saaya (My Shadow) is a 1966 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Raj Khosla. The movie features Sunil Dutt and Sadhana in lead roles, with notable performances by K.N. Singh, Prem Chopra, and Anwar Hussain. The film, which was released on June 10, 1966, is the second installment in Khosla and Sadhana’s suspense-thriller trilogy, following Woh Kaun Thi? (1964) and preceding Anita (1967).
The narrative centers around Thakur Rakesh Singh (Sunil Dutt), a lawyer whose wife Geeta (Sadhana) dies while he is away studying in London. Upon his return, he is shattered by her death. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when a woman resembling Geeta, claiming to be his wife, is arrested. This woman, Raina (also played by Sadhana), insists she is Geeta and knows intimate details about their life, leading to a gripping courtroom drama. The film’s music, composed by Madan Mohan with lyrics by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, was highly acclaimed.
