Altaf Raja, born on October 15, 1967, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, is a well-known Indian Qawwali singer who rose to fame in the mid-1990s. Altaf initially received music training at the age of 15, following his parents, both of whom were professional musicians. He became popular in the music industry with his debut album “Tum To Thehre Pardesi” in 1997, which was a massive hit, selling about 4 million units. Altaf Raja’s music is characterized by the use of Urdu Shayari, making his songs deeply emotional and touching. Some of his most famous songs include “Tum To Thehre Pardesi” from the album of the same name, “Pehle To Kabhi Kabhi Gham Tha,” and “Aaj Ki Raat Na Ja Pardesi“. He has also lent his voice as a playback singer in several Bollywood movies, contributing to the films “Shapath” (1997), “Yamraaj” (1998), and “Ghanchakkar” (2013) among others. Besides singing, Altaf acted in movies and composed music for films like “Market” (2003) and “Dukaan: Pila House” (2004).
