Music Director Bhaskar Chandavarkar
Bhaskar Chandavarkar was a famous music director born on March 16, 1936, in Pune, Maharashtra. He mixed Indian classical and Western music beautifully, and gave sounds for films in various languages like Marathi, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Oriya. Some of his famous songs come from movies like “Vamsha Vriksha” (1971, Kannada), “Ondanondu Kaladalli” (1978, Kannada), and “Shwaas” (2004, Marathi). Also he directed a music of Chandani Raat song in Bollywood. He was honored with the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the Marathi short film “Chaitra” in 2002, and also received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director for “Swapnadanam” (1975, Malayalam) and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1988.
