Kailash Kher, born on July 7, 1973, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is a renowned Indian music composer and singer. His music style is deeply influenced by Indian folk and Sufi music, drawing inspiration from legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Kumar Gandharva. Kher’s journey began with his passion for music, leading him to leave home at 14 to pursue musical training. He first gained attention through singing jingles, eventually breaking into Bollywood with notable songs like “Allah Ke Bande” from “Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II.” Kailash Kher has directed music for various movies and has a knack for infusing traditional lyrics into his compositions. Some of his famous songs include “Teri Deewani” from the album by his band Kailasa, “Allah Ke Bande,” and “Chand Sifarish” from the movie “Fanaa.” His unique voice and soulful music have earned him prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri in 2017, and two Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for “Fanaa” and the Telugu film “Mirchi.”
