Khawaja Khurshid Anwar was born on March 21, 1912, in Mianwali, which is part of present-day Pakistan. He was not only a talented music director but also a filmmaker and writer. Khurshid Anwar started his career in the film industry in 1943 with the company New Theatres. Some of his most famous songs include “Tu kaun si badli mein” from the movie “Koel” (1959), and “Ae rahe haq k shaheedo” which remains an iconic national song in Pakistan. Another notable track is “Jis din se piya” from “Parwaz” (1954), which is highly praised for its melody and lyrical depth.
