Palash ventured into music direction in the late 1990s and achieved fame with his band’s debut album ‘Dhoom’ which was praised for its fresh sound and unique mix of Indian cultural music with a modern twist. His work mainly includes compositions for his band, and he has been pivotal in bringing the variation of Indian pop (Indipop) to the forefront in the country.
