Ramesh Narayan, born on November 3, 1959, in Kerala, India, has made significant contributions to the Indian music scene, especially in Malayalam cinema. He is known for his expertise in Hindustani classical music, having been trained in both Carnatic and Hindustani traditions. His journey in music began early, influenced by his family’s musical background, and he later received extensive training under the renowned Pandit Jasraj. Narayan’s work spans composing music for films, documentaries, and television programs in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil. Some of his notable film projects include “Garshom,” “Meghamalhar,” and “Saira.” Narayan’s talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the National Film Awards and Kerala State Film Awards. Notably, he received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director for his work in “Rathri Mazha” and “Ennu Ninte Moideen.” His dedication to music and his efforts to popularize classical music in Kerala was acknowledged by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who presented him with the Indian Music Academy Award.
