Vijay Prakash, born on 21 February 1976, is a well-known Indian playback singer and music director, famous for his work in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Marathi films. He started his career by moving to Mumbai in 1996, where he trained under Suresh Wadkar and made his mark in the music industry with his participation in the Sa Re Ga Ma program on Zee TV. His popularity and growth came with singing for A.R. Rahman in films like “Swades” and the Tamil film “New”. Vijay made his work as a music composer in the Kannada film “Andar Bahar” in 2013. Vijay Prakash has directed and sung numerous hit songs. Some of his famous tracks include “Kavite” from “Gaalipata”, “Om Sivoham” from “Naan Kadavul”, and “Bombe Helutaite” from “Raajakumara”. His talent has also been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Karnataka Government’s ‘Best Playback Singer’ award in 2016 for “Nammooralli Chaligaladalli” from “Beautiful Manasugalu” and the Vijay Music Awards for Best Male Playback for “Hosanna” from “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa”.
