
Singer Agha Sarwar
Agha Sarwar was an early playback singer, actor, and radio pioneer active during the mid-20th century. He began his recording career in the mid-1950s, lending his voice to vintage film soundtracks. Agha Sarwar famously performed songs for the 1956 Bollywood film Guru Ghantal, working under music director Lachhiram Tamar. Some of his popular songs include “Aag Se Na Khelo Babuji” from Guru Ghantal (1956). He worked alongside co-singers such as Geeta Dutt, and his tracks featured lyrics by celebrated lyricists like Sarshar Sailani. He also briefly appeared in Pakistani cinema, notably playing the guitar in the film Armaan (1966). Later in his career, he moved to England, where he was associated with BBC London for a period. Agha Sarwar’s early contributions to mid-century entertainment remain preserved as classic examples of vintage playback music before he passed away in 1994.
