Singer Arun Ahuja
Arun Ahuja was an Indian actor and producer born on January 17, 1917, in Gujranwala, Punjab, British India (now in Pakistan). He began his career in the film industry in the late 1930s and gained popularity with his acting skills. Arun is best known for his role in the film Ek Hi Raasta (1939), which was a significant hit at the time. He worked in several films during the 1940s and 1950s, often collaborating with renowned filmmakers and artists of that era. Although primarily known as an actor, his vocal performance credits include playback and ensemble vocal contributions to later Bollywood tracks like “Anarkali Tere Sar Ki Kasam” from Do Matwale (1991) and “Jaago Jaago Subah Ho Gayi” from Ghoonghat (1997). He was married to actress Nirmala Devi, and together they had a son, Govinda, who later became a famous Bollywood actor. Arun Ahuja’s legacy continues through his family’s ongoing contributions to Indian cinema.
