Ayub Ogada, born Job Seda on February 22, 1956, in Mombasa, Kenya, was a renowned Kenyan singer and musician known for his mastery of the nyatiti, an eight-stringed traditional instrument. He began his career in the 1970s, performing with the band African Heritage, and later moved to the UK, where he gained international recognition. Ayub’s music is deeply rooted in Kenyan traditions, blending African rhythms with contemporary sounds. His most famous album, “En Mana Kuoyo,” released in 1993, includes the popular track “Kothbiro,” which has been featured in several films and documentaries. HIs Bollywood work inculde “Hai Ye Dosti Yaaro Zindagi ” and more. Ayub collaborated with notable artists and music directors, contributing to the global appreciation of African music. His work has been recognized with various awards, and he has performed at prestigious venues worldwide.
