Baljit Singh “Bally” Sagoo, a British-Indian record producer and DJ, was born in Delhi, India, and raised in Birmingham, England. Embarking on his musical journey in 1989, he quickly became a figurehead in the music industry, known for blending Western dance and hip-hop with Indian music. His early work included the hit single “Hey Jamalo” and collaborations with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on “Magic Touch”. In the 1990s, Sagoo achieved mainstream success with “Chura Liya” from Bollywood Flashback, and in the 2000s, he was awarded Outstanding Achievement at the UK Asian Awards. His notable contributions also extend to movie soundtracks, including “Monsoon Wedding” and “Bend It Like Beckham”. Some of his work includes “Sajna Ve Sajna”, “Future Shock”, “The Mistress of Spices” and “Choli Ke Peeche”.
