Jazim Sharma, born on 14 September 1990 in Bathinda, Punjab, India, is a celebrated ghazal singer renowned for his mastery in the genre, as well as in Thumri. He began his musical training at the tender age of 5 under the tutelage of Late Shri Vijay Sachdeva Ji of the Kirana Gharana and has been deeply influenced by the legendary ghazal singer Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan. Jazim’s academic pursuit in music includes a graduation and a Master’s in Music from the University of Mumbai, which equipped him with profound classical music insights and skills. His career in Bollywood started with the song “Kya Hoga” in the film “Dedh Ishqiya” in 2014. Jazim has since made significant contributions to various music genres, including film music, with notable songs like “Grey Waala Shade” from the film “Manmarziyaan,” “Chonch Ladhiyaan” from the same film, and “Hard Hard” from “Batti Gul Meter Chalu.” His work has not only been recognized by music enthusiasts but also awarded, as seen with his song “Grey Waala Shade” earning him awards like the Mirchi Music Award for the Upcoming Music Composer of The Year (2019). Jazim’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic include the composition of the song “Guzar Jayega,” which featured various artists.
