Meena Kapoor, born in 1930 in Kolkata, emerged as a distinguished voice in the realm of Hindi cinema’s playback singing during the 1940s and 1950s. Her journey in music was influenced by her familial ties to the entertainment industry, being the daughter of actor Bikram Kapoor.
