Sanam Marvi, born on April 17, 1986, in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan, is a distinguished Pakistani folk and Sufi singer celebrated for her profound interpretations of Sufi poetry across various languages including Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and Saraiki. Marvi began her musical journey at the tender age of 7, performing alongside her father at local festivals and ceremonies. She gained significant attention with her debut on Pakistan national television in 2009​. Marvi’s music, characterized by its soulful depth and vocal clarity, has earned her a place among the leading figures in Sufi and folk music. Some of her notable songs include “Hairaan Hua” and “Lagi Bina” from Coke Studio, “Koi Labda“, and “Gallaan Dilaan Diyaan“, which have been widely appreciated for their lyrical depth and musical richness​. Her achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the UNESCO Award at the 9th International Music Festival in Samarqand 2013, making her the second artist after Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to win this honor, and the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Medal of Distinction) awarded by the President of Pakistan in 2020​ .
