Strings, a prominent Pakistani pop/rock band formed in Karachi in 1988 by Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, made significant contributions to the music scene. Initially gaining traction with their album “2” in 1992, featuring the hit “Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar“, they disbanded to focus on their studies but made a striking comeback in 2000 with “Duur“. Their music blends Eastern classical influences with Western rock, exemplified in songs like “Duur” and “Najane Kyun“, the latter being part of the Hollywood film “Spider-Man 2” soundtrack. The band’s achievements include significant recognition and awards such as the Favorite Artist India at the MTV Asia Awards 2005 and the Motorola Music Icon at The Musik Awards 2006. Their work in Bollywood includes tracks like “Zinda Hoon” from the movie “Zinda” and “Aakhri Alvida” from “Shootout at Lokhandwala“.
