Throughout his illustrious career, Khan received several prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri in 1991, the Padma Bhushan in 2006, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2018, reflecting his immense contribution to Indian music. Additionally, the Sangeet Natak Akademi awarded him in 2003 for his excellence in the field of music.
