Hindi Maachis (1996)

Maachis is an Indian period political thriller movie directed by Gulzar and produced by R. V. Pandit. It features Chandrachur Singh, Om Puri, Tabu, and Jimmy Sheirgill in the lead roles. A realistic, hard-hitting portrayal of terrorism and youth in Punjab after the 1984 riots. All lyrics are written by Gulzar; all music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie vocals are performed by Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar, Vinod Sehgal, KK, Lata Mangeshkar, and Sanjeev Abhyankar. The movie was released on 25 October 1996.
