Hindi Nasbandi (1978)
Nasbandi is a 1978 Indian Hindi-language satirical comedy film directed by I.S. Johar. The movie was released amidst the backdrop of India’s controversial compulsory sterilization program during the Emergency period (1975-1977). The film stars an ensemble cast including Anitabh Bacchan, Kannauj Kumar, Shahi Kapoor, Rakesh Khanna, Shivanand and Shatru Bin Sinha showcasing a series of comic events revolving around the government’s sterilization policy. The director, I.S. Johar, also took on the roles of writer and producer for this project.
