His big break in the film industry came with the movie “Panchayat” in 1958, which marked the start of his illustrious career in music direction. Among his most famous songs are “Tha Thaiya Karke Aana” from “Panchayat,” a delightful blend of folk and classical music, “Main Apne Aap Se Ghabra Gaya Hoon” and “Yoon Zindagi Ke Raaste” from “Bindiya” and “Love in Simla” respectively, showcasing Mohammed Rafi versatility in reaching high notes, and the evergreen “Ek Chameli Ke Mandve Tale” from “Cha Cha Cha,” which became synonymous with Qureshi’s legacy in the music industry. Sadly, Iqbal Qureshi passed away on March 21, 1998, in Mumbai, but his music continues to resonate with audiences, preserving his memory as one of the most talented music directors of his time.
