Karthik Raja, born on June 29, 1973, in Tamil Nadu, India, began his music career at a young age, deeply influenced by his father, the renowned composer Ilaiyaraaja. With talent in both Western classical and Carnatic music, Karthik entered the Tamil film industry as a composer with the film “Pandiyan” in 1992. He gained fame with his work in movies like “Alexander,” “Ullaasam,” and “Dumm Dumm Dumm” showing his mixing of traditional and contemporary music styles. Among his famous songs are “Pandiyanin Rajyathil” from “Pandiyan,” “Ninaikindra” from “Athma,” and “Vaalibam Vaazhthu” from “Ullasam.” Kartik’s talent was recognized with awards such as the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent for “Grahan” and the Cinema Express Award for Best Music Director for “Dumm Dumm Dumm.”
