Music Director M. G. Sreekumar

M. G. Sreekumar, born on May 25, 1957, in Haripad, Kerala, is a famous music director and playback singer in the Malayalam film industry. He has sung in various Indian languages and directed music for several notable Malayalam films. Sreekumar made his debut in the Malayalam movie “Coolie” in 1983 and gained significant recognition with the film “Chithram” in 1988, where he sang all the songs. Some of his famous songs include “Nadha Roopini” from “His Highness Abdullah,” “Chanthu Pottum” from “Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum,” “Mann Ki Asha” from “Bumm Bumm Bole (2010),” and “Kilukil Pambaram” from “Kilukkam.” As a music director, his notable works include “Chathurangam” (2002), “Thandavam” (2002), and “Oru Naal Varum” (2010). Sreekumar has received several awards, including two National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for “Nadha Roopini” and “Chanthu Pottum”. He was also awarded as Best Music Director in 2011 for Oru Marubhoomikkadha and the Asiavision Movie Award for Best Music Director for Oru Naal Varum.
