Michael Brook, born in 1951 in Toronto, Canada, is a renowned music director known for his versatility across genres such as rock, electronica, world music, and film scores. He began his career after studying music and electronics at York University and gained recognition for his innovative work, including creating the Infinite Guitar. His first solo album, “Hybrid,” released in 1985, showcased his unique blend of instrumental tracks with Indian and African influences. Among his famous songs, “Hybrid” (1985), “Mustt Mustt” (with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, 1990), “Naiharwa,” and “Cobalt Blue” (1992) stand out as testaments to his creative prowess. Michael Brook’s contributions to music have been recognized with nominations for prestigious awards. He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 for his production work and as a co-artist on Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s album “Night Song.” Furthermore, his soundtrack for the film “Into the Wild” was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2008​.
