Mickey Singh, born Harmanjit Singh on December 21, 1990, in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, has made a remarkable mark as an Indian-born American singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, model, and actor. By the time he was 15, Mickey was already immersed in learning sound design and mixing in a local music studio in the United States, where he had moved with his family at the age of 13. Mickey Singh’s professional career took off in 2012 with his innovative Punjabi remix of “Birthday Cake”, which he followed up with a unique remake of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s “Akhiyan”, integrating Western music with Punjabi vocals. The year 2013 was a significant milestone for Mickey, as he released “Mick’s Tape”, a mixtape that featured a fusion of Western sounds and Indian vocals. This mixtape included hits like “Bad Girl” and “In Love”. “Double Addi”, his first official single. Some of Mickey Singh’s most famous tracks that highlight his unique Urban-Desi genre include “Rooftop Party”, “Ho Gaya Pyaar“, and “Phone“. “Rooftop Party” and “Ho Gaya Pyaar”, in particular, have become anthems in their own right. In 2015, he was awarded the “Best North American Act” at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards, a testament to his impact on the music scene. Additionally, his collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh on the romantic song “Ishq Haazir Hai” reached No. 1 on the BBC Asian Network download chart in its first week, highlighting his prowess as a lyricist and music producer.
