Prem Dhawan was a well-known person in Bollywood, known for his talents as a lyricist, music composer, and choreographer. Born on June 13, 1923 in Ambala, India. Dhawan made significant contributions to the Indian music and film industry with his patriotic songs and compositions, particularly in the 1965 movie “Shaheed” by Manoj Kumar. Among his most famous songs are “Teri Duniya Se Hoke Majboor Chala” from “Pavitra Paapi,” “Aa Lag Ja Gale Dilruba” from “Dus Lakh,” and “Chal Chal Re Naujawan” from “Ek Phool Do Mali.” His work in choreography is also notable, with “Ud Jab Jab Zulfein Teri” being among the most popular. Dhawan’s contribution to the film and music industry was recognized with prestigious awards, including the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in 1971 for his exceptional work in songwriting and the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1970.
