Music Director S. N. Tripathi

S. N. Tripathi (14 March 1913 – 28 March 1988) was a famous music director in Indian cinema, known for his work from the 1930s to the 1980s. He started his career as a composer with the film “Chandan” in 1942 and was the first to use the slogan “Jai Hind” in a film song during the British Raj era. His talent wasn’t just limited to music; he was also an actor, notably playing Hanuman in mythological films, and a director, with his first directorial being “Rani Roopmati” in 1957. Tripathi mixed classical music with folk elements, making his songs timeless. Among his famous songs are “Zara Saamne Toh Aao Chhaliye” from “Janam Janam Ke Phere” and “Na Kisi Ki Ankh Ka Noor Hoon” from “Lal Qila.” His work in “Rani Roopmati” and “Sangeet Samrat Tansen” is particularly celebrated as his most popular work in the musical world.
