Salur Rajeswara Rao was born on October 11, 1922, in Sivaramapuram, Andhra Pradesh, and became known for his innovative integration of Indian classical music into Telugu cinema. His career, spanning from 1934 to 1986, included working with Gemini Studios and creating hit music for films like “Chandralekha” and “Malliswari.” Rao’s notable works include “Mrogindi Kalyana Veena” from “Kurukshetram” and “Abhinandana Mandara Maala” from “Tandra Paparayudu.” He received several awards, including the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 1992 and the Nandi Award for Best Music Director in 1980 for “Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Mahathmyam.” His notable songs include “Naache Ghoda Naache” from “chandralekha”, “Parades Na Jaiyo” from “Nishan”, “Om Namo Narayanay” from “Bhakta Prahlada“, “Maai Ri Main To Madhuban Mein” from “Chandralekha“.
