Sameer Phaterpekar is a well-known music director who started his journey in the music world in 1983 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He initially worked with legendary composers like R.D. Burman, Kalyanji-Anandji, Rajesh Roshan, and Laxmikant–Pyarelal. Among his early notable contributions was as a guitarist for the song “Hawa Hawaii” in the film “Mr. India” (1987). In 2002, Sameer began his career as an independent music composer alongside the famous lyricist Anand Bakshi with the album “Khoobsurat.” One of his significant achievements was scoring the film “Dombivli Fast” (2005), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. He’s closely worked with director Nishikant Kamat on films like “Evano Oruvan” (2007), “Mumbai Meri Jaan” (2008), “Force” (2011), “Drishyam” (2015), and “Madaari” (2016)​​. Some notable films he scored include “Dombivli Fast” (2005), “Mumbai Meri Jaan” (2008) and “Drishyam” (2015). In terms of awards, Sameer Phaterpekar’s contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Best Background Music at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in 2015.
