Strings was a famous band from Pakistan that made music from 1988 to 1992 and then from 1999 to 2021. The band had two main members, Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia, who started the band with their friends in college mixing Pakistani music with some western styles. Strings became really well-known for their song “Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar” which was played on MTV Asia and became a big hit. Later, they made more albums like “Duur” and “Dhaani” which had famous songs and even music for movies in Hollywood and Bollywood. Strings also helped make the music show “Coke Studio Pakistan” better from 2013 to 2017. Some of their most famous songs include “Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar” from their second album, “Najane Kyun” from the album “Dhaani” which was part of the “Spider-Man 2” movie soundtrack, and “Zinda Hoon” which was made for the Bollywood movie “Zinda”. They won the “Favorite Artist India” award at the MTV Asia Awards 2005 and were also recognized at the 2006 The Musik Awards with the Motorola Music Icon award and nominations for their song “Zinda Hoon.”​
