Ghulam Abbas, born on January 1, 1955, in Jhang, Pakistan, has been an influential figure in Pakistani music since beginning his playback singing career in 1975. Known for his ghazals, songs, and playback singing in Urdu and Punjabi films, Abbas has lent his voice to over 129 songs in 120 films. His notable works include “Woh Aa To Jaye Magar” from “Ajnabi” (1975), “Aisay Woh Sharmaye” from “Do Sathi” (1975), and “Deewana Kahin Tum Ko Na” from “Deevar” (1976). Abbas has received four Nigar Awards for Best Playback Singer, along with esteemed national recognitions such as the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in 2011 and the Pride of Performance in 2020.
