Jaswinder Brar, born in Kalanwali Mandi, Sirsa, Haryana, has established herself as a well known figure in the Indian music industry, especially in the Punjabi folk and Bhangra genres. Launching her career in 1990 with the album “Keemti Cheez,” she has since been dubbed the Folk Queen for her contributions to Punjabi music. Brar’s notable songs includes “”Akhaada“, “Bhull Jaan Waaleya,” and “Rok Lo Khudkushiyaan.” Her honour include the prestigious “Shromani Punjabi Lok Gaaiki Award 2010” and recognition as the best folk vocalist female in 2006 by PTC Punjabi, highlighting her song “Mirza” and album “Gallan Pyar Dian”.
