Singer Kavita Krishnamurthy

Kavita Krishnamurthy, also known as Kavita Subramaniam, is a renowned Indian playback and classical singer. Born in New Delhi, she has recorded over 50,000 songs across 45 Indian languages, earning accolades including four Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Awards and the Padma Shri in 2005. Married to violinist L. Subramaniam, she started her career with a song in the Bengali film “Shriman Prithviraj” in 1971 and rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits from films like “1942: A Love Story”.
