Meenu Purushottam, born on November 20, 1944, in Patiala, Punjab, is a revered figure in the Indian music industry, known for her significant contributions as a playback singer. Her musical journey began under the tutelage of Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwalle, and she made her Bollywood debut at the tender age of sixteen with the duet “Na Na Na Re” in the movie “Taj Mahal” (1963). Over the decades, Meenu has worked with illustrious music directors like Laxmikant Pyarelal, S. D. Burman, and Jaidev, enhancing films with her melodious voice​ (Myswar).
