Singer Raeth (Band)

Raeth, a notable Sufi rock band originating from Karachi, Pakistan, was established in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic students, Wajhi Farooki, Sunny Ghansham, Mustafa Asad, and Hasan Farabi. The band quickly rose to fame in both Pakistan and India, attracting a diverse audience with their unique blend of Sufi melodies and rock influences. Their breakthrough hit, “Bhula Do,” from their debut album “Raeth,” earned a top spot on MTV’s Top Charts in 2014, alongside Kailash Kher’s “Saaiyan“. The album itself was a commercial success, ranking at No. 7 on the Indian Planet M charts. In addition to their musical pursuits, Raeth has also been involved in significant collaborations, including the soundtrack for the 2013 Bollywood remake of “Zanjeer,” directed by Apoorva Lakhia and featuring stars like Priyanka Chopra. This project highlighted their versatility and ability to blend traditional music with contemporary sounds under the musical direction of Chirantan Bhatt. Among their other popular tracks are “Tum Meri Ho” and “Waada,” both of which have contributed to their status as a cross-border musical phenomenon.
