Singer Rafeeq Ahmed
Rafeeq Ahmed (credited alternatively as Rafiq Ahmed) was an early Indian playback singer active during the mid-20th century, recognized for his contributions to pre-partition Hindi cinema. He began his recording career in the late 1940s, lending his voice to vintage film soundtracks. Rafeeq Ahmed famously performed songs for the 1947 film Amar Asha, working under music composer Shanti Kumar Desai. His popular tracks include “Apna Ghar Pehchan Bande” from Amar Asha (1947). His tracks featured lyrics by celebrated lyricists he worked with, including Qabil Amritsari and Kavi Nanak.
