Runa Rizvi, born in Bombay to the accomplished singers Rajkumar Rizvi and Indrani Rizvi, is a renowned Indian playback and classical singer. A graduate of Mithibai College, Mumbai, Runa has been trained in a rich array of musical styles including classical, semi-classical, and light classical music under the esteemed Kalavant gharana. She is known for her versatility across various genres such as ghazals, thumris, Sufi music, as well as Bollywood playback singing. She gained significant recognition with her Bollywood debut in the film “Uff Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai” and furthered her fame with the song “Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai” from the popular movie “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na,” composed by A.R. Rahman, who has been a significant influence and mentor in her career​​.
