Hindi 1942: A Love Story (1994)

1942: A Love Story is a 1994 Indian Hindi patriotic romance movie directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The movie features Anil Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, and Pran in lead roles. 1942: A Love Story movie songs are sung by Kumar Sanu, Lata Mangeshkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, and Shibaji Chatterjee. The film’s original songs were composed by R.D. Burman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The first Indian movie to use Dolby Stereo was highly acclaimed for its music, songs, picturization, cinematography, lyrics, and the portrayal of leading lady Manisha Koirala, a turning point for her career. The movie received thirteen nominations at the 40th Filmfare Awards, winning nine. The core plot of the movie was reported to be inspired by the 1992 Kannada movie Mysore Mallige based on the 1942 work of the same title by K. S. Narasimhaswamy.
