
Music Director Hansraj Behl
Hansraj Behl was a famous music director in India. He made music for both Hindi and Punjabi movies. He was born on 19 November 1916 in a place called Ambala, which was part of British Punjab back then. Behl started his music career by opening a music school in Anarkali Bazaar, Lahore. His initial major contribution to cinema came with the 1946 film titled “Pujari.” This was just the beginning, and he went on to make music for nearly 67 movies over forty years. He worked with many famous songwriters and created a unique style of music that people still remember and love today. Some of the most loved songs made by Hansraj Behl include “Saawan Aaya” from the movie “Chunariya” (1948), where the famous singer Asha Bhosle first sang in a Hindi movie. Another special song is “Jahan Daal Daal Par” from “Sikandar-e-Aazam” (1965). He also made beautiful music for the Punjabi movie “Satluj De Kandhe” (1964) that starred Balraj Sahni, showing how good he was at capturing the spirit of Punjab through his music.
