M. M. Srilekha, born Koduri Srilekha on 8 September, is very famous in the Indian music industry, especially known for her contributions to Telugu cinema. What’s special about her is that she is the only lady who makes music in the Telugu movie world. She started singing for movies when she was just nine years old and began making music when she was only twelve. Her first job was for the movie “Nalaiya Theerpu” in 1992, and this movie was also the first one for the famous actor Vijay. Srilekha has a famous family in the film and music industry, being the cousin of renowned music composer M. M. Keeravani and celebrated director S. S. Rajamouli. Over the years, Srilekha has composed music for movies across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Some of her famous songs include works from the movies “Taj Mahal” (1995), “Preyasi Rave” (1999), and “Aaghaaz” (2000).
