Ravindra Jain was born on February 28, 1944, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, and became a renowned music director, composer, and lyricist in India. Despite being blind by birth, Jain’s passion for music led him to become one of the most notable figures in the Hindi music industry. Starting his career in the early 1970s, he composed music for many hit movies, showcasing his talent and dedication to the craft. Some of his early notable works include music for “Chor Machaye Shor” (1974), “Geet Gaata Chal” (1975), “Chitchor” (1976), and “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se” (1978). Among his famous compositions are songs from “Geet Gaata Chal,” “Chitchor,” and “Ram Teri Ganga Maili.” The latter, a film released in 1985, was especially significant as it won him the Filmfare Best Music Director Award. His work in mythological television serials, such as “Ramayana” and “Shri Krishna,” has been celebrated for bringing the stories to life through music. He was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015. Additionally, his winning of the Filmfare Best Music Director award for “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” highlighted his exceptional talent in film music composition.
