Shekhar Sen, born on February 16, 1961, in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is a multi-talented Indian artist known for his contributions as a singer, music composer, lyricist, and actor. He began on his music journey in Mumbai in 1979, aiming to become a music composer. Sen found his true calling in composing bhajans, leading to the creation of over 200 bhajan albums since 1983. He has also been recognized for his unique monoact musical plays like “Tulsi”, “Kabeer”, “Vivekanand”, “Saahab”, and “Soordas”, earning acclaim both in India and internationally​. Sen’s dedication to music and theater has been honored with prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri in 2015. He was appointed as the Chairperson for the Sangeet Natak Academy by the Indian Government. Some of his work includes albums like “Samnarpan“, “Amrit Wani” and “Sangeet Sandhya”. His famous songs include “Jab Tera Khat Kabhi,” “Tay Kar Liya Hai Samandar Allah,” and “Mere Labon Pe Dua Banke Aap Rahate Ho” from Rishta.
