Music Director Ustad Rashid Khan
Ustad Rashid Khan was born on July 1, 1968, in Sahaswan, Uttar Pradesh. He was a well-known figure in Indian classical music, representing the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana. Rashid Khan’s music career began at a young age under the training of his maternal grand-uncle, Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan. His first public performance was at the age of eleven. His career was highlighted by performances both in India and abroad, bringing a modern sensibility to classical compositions. Among Rashid Khan’s notable contributions to film music are the songs “Aaoge Jab Tum” from the movie Jab We Met, “Allah Hi Rahem” from My Name is Khan, and “Bhor Bhayo” from Morning Walk. He received prestigious awards including the Padma Shri in 2006 for his song in Jab We Met and the Padma Bhushan in 2022.
