Arnab Chakrabarty, born on September 19, 1980, in Bombay, Maharashtra, is a well known sarod player and teacher in the realm of Hindustani classical music, now based in Toronto, Canada. His musical journey began under the guidance of sarod exponent Brij Narayan and subsequently under Pandit Buddhadev Das Gupta. He won the National Collegiate Competition for Music and Dance for three consecutive years from 1995 to 1997. Known for his popular song ‘Wada Raha‘ from the movie ‘Khakee‘, he received nominations for the Zee Cine Awards and Stardust Awards in 2005. Chakraborty’s talents have led him to work with leading music composers and to win ‘K for KISHORE’, a musical reality show. His voice is featured in the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2014 anthem and in songs for Bollywood movies like ‘Jagga Jasoos‘. Notably, his original composition ‘Bhule Jao’ is part of the Amazon India Original Series ‘Paatal Lok’ (2020), and his latest work includes ‘Ek Adhoora Kaam Hai’ from the Netflix India Film ‘Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi’ (2021)​.
