Dilraj Kaur, born on 21 May 1960 in Mumbai, India, is a celebrated Indian playback singer renowned for her contributions to the Hindi film industry. Beginning her musical journey at the tender age of seven with tabla training, she ventured into playback singing with her debut in the 1975 film “Jaan Hazir Hai.” Over her extensive career spanning several decades, Dilraj has lent her voice to over 280 songs across numerous films. She has worked with top music directors like R. D. Burman, Laxmikant–Pyarelal, Kalyanji–Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, Usha Khanna, and Ravindra Jain, showcasing her versatility and enduring appeal in the industry. Among her most notable works are the songs “Mausam Mastana” from “Satte Pe Satta” (1982), a duet with Asha Bhosle which remains a fan favorite, and “Gaddi Jaangi Ye” from the movie “Dada“, both of which highlight her dynamic vocal range and style.
