She is known for her versatility in singing in Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and English. Royal made her mark in Bollywood with the film “Khoobsurat” (2014), featuring the song “Preet“. She has also given hits like “Din Shagna Da” (Phillauri), “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” (Baar Baar Dekho), and “Ranjha” (Shershaah). Notably, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for “Shershaah” in 2022, becoming the first female to win in this category.
