Malika Pukhraj was a celebrated Pakistani Ghazal and folk singer known as “The Queen” of music. Born in 1912 in British India, she was famous for her rendition of “Abhi Tau Main Jawan Hoon,” along with other Urdu songs like “Lo Phir Basant Aai” and “Piya Baaj Piyaala Piya Jaey Na.” She received the Pride of Performance Award in 1980 from the President of Pakistan and the ‘Legend of Voice’ award from All India Radio in 1977.
