Munni Begum, born Nadira Begum, is a distinguished Pakistani ghazal singer whose musical journey is marked by her resonant voice and emotive performances. She adopted the stage name “Munni Begum” at the behest of her music teacher due to her petite stature and youthful appearance. Her career took a pivotal turn in 1976 when she released a cassette of her singing ghazals in Urdu, which became an instant hit, selling far beyond the initial expectations.
